Welcome to Coprus Christi Whole Family Catechesis
Corpus Christi Parish offers Family Catechesis for its Faith Formation curriculum. We no longer offer traditional in person or homeschool Faith Formation.
When it comes to children’s faith formation, traditional Faith Formation has developed some practices and habits over many decades—and not all of them are good habits. With traditional Faith Formation, the parish has taken the lead in instructing the children in our Faith without including the parents. While parents were catechized as children, most have forgotten the basic tenets of our faith along with the importance and obligation of attending Sunday Mass. That is not a criticism of parents, but the most obvious failure of traditional Faith Formation.
With Family Catechesis, we are empowering the family as a whole and equipping them to have a deeper understanding of the Mass and our Faith.
The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us parents are the first and primary educators for their children, both in line and in the Faith.
IN WFC, Families are required to attend ONE session a month (for a total of Eight mandatory sessions) at their chosen session. All sessions meet on Sundays, centered around the Mass schedule.
RED AM Sessions: Meets 9 – 10:30 AM the First Sunday of the Month beginning September 8
GREEN AM Session: Meets 9 – 10:30 AM the Second Sunday of the Month beginning September 15
BLUE PM Session: Meets 6 – 7:30 pm the Third Sunday of the Month beginning September 22.
Each session starts in the gym at Holy Child Religious Education Building and follow this rough schedule:
Before registering for WFC, ALL Families are required to review ALL the document information. Remember, WFC is not traditional Faith Formation, there is parent involvement.
